With two sold out screenings over a four night residency, our drive-in cinema brand, “Small Town Big Screen” arrived in Barrow-in-Furness.
With seven films screened over four nights, we brought Moana, Dirty Dancing, Bohemian Rhapsody, Trolls World Tour, Joker, The Greatest Showman and A Star Is Born to the Cumbrian town and according to the North West Evening Mail, a local paper with a circulation of over 7,000, has been hailed a ‘huge hit’ among residents of the town.
“Everyone’s been really nice and really supportive. It’s been really great to bring this to the town.”
Charlotte Ducie, Managing Director – Experience Creators Ltd
Around 1,200 people came to one of our screenings throughout the residency in an event that saw local businesses support something huge coming to their town by investing in a “partner package” where their advert was played on the 40ft-wide screen before each movie and their business advertised on the “Small Town Big Screen” social platforms. In total, over 400 cars came to one of our screenings.
In just three weeks, the “Small Town Big Screen” website was viewed 17,122 times, with 64% of visits viewed on a mobile phone. Our social following launched three weeks prior to the event and in that time, our Facebook posts reached over 40,000 people with 12,300 total engagements across Facebook and Instagram, a really strong delivery that proves a great brand experience goes hand-in-hand with digital marketing, even in a Covid world.
We wanted to transport our audience into a totally different world from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
Strategic partnerships with local media, including the daily newspaper, North West Evening Mail and community radio station, Cando FM ensured that in exchange for ad space on our screen, we could gain additional access to a reach of 30,000 additional social followers for event promotion and secure “talk of the town” status in Barrow and the surrounding areas.
We wanted this to be more than just another drive-in cinema. We wanted to transport our audience into a totally different world from the moment they arrived to the moment they leave. From our amazing ambassadors to pre-show moments to engage our audience, ticket upgrade competitions and branded Snack Boxes, the whole experience was designed to be like an attraction at Disney World in a small Cumbrian town.
As we move forward in a world gripped by a pandemic, Experience Creators is excited about where we can take experiential and brand experiences in a Covid-secure manner that drives engagement and awareness for brands across the UK.
